I was born and raised in Istanbul and have lived most of my life in London. I am happily married to my soulmate, who is not only a loving husband but also the best dad to our two amazing daughters. I describe myself as a fun-loving, adventurous person who enjoys exploring different cultures and is fascinated by the workings of the mind and neuroscience. In addition, I have a deep appreciation for nature and the ocean. Most importantly, my greatest joy in life comes from spending time with my family, who mean everything to me.
Sports were never a big part of my life growing up, but in my early thirties, I began practicing yoga to tone my body. It wasn't until a few years later that I realized the full benefits of yoga, which completely transformed my practice and my outlook on life.
I distinctly remember the moment when I first experienced the feeling of being fully present and engaged in the current moment without judgment or distraction. It was a powerful experience that helped me quiet my mind and reduce the influence of negative or anxious thoughts, leading to a greater sense of inner peace and well-being. This experience is what kept me coming back to my mat every day.
In 2017, I opened a successful lifestyle store in the south of London. However, like many others, the pandemic arrived and forced me to make some difficult decisions. During this time, I decided to deepen my knowledge of yoga by enrolling in teacher training.
Running my business the last five years, I had the privilege of meeting many people who were willing to open up to me about their struggles and feelings of unfulfillment. It was during these conversations that I discovered my passion for offering mindfulness tips and guidance to those in need. It was a truly rewarding experience to see how a few simple techniques and practices could make such a positive impact on people's lives.
Although I never intended to be a yoga and mindfulness teacher, I found that as I shared my knowledge and expertise with others, I was asked to give private classes as well as mindfulness and breathing exercises. It was only later that I realised how much I enjoyed helping others and changing their lives in a positive way.
I am excited about the journey that I am on and am hoping our paths will cross someday.
